Craig Peters, the CEO of Getty Images, announced that the company will allocate millions of dollars to pursue legal action against Stability AI. In an interview, Peters disclosed that the British startup, renowned for its AI art generation model Stable Diffusion, and other AI research labs are under suspicion for utilizing copyrighted content to train AI models for commercial purposes. Consequently, Getty Images has initiated lawsuits against Stability AI in both the UK and the US, accusing the company of replicating 12 million images without authorization or compensation, thereby gaining commercially and infringing upon the rights of content creators.
