Effective June 30, ByteDance will initiate a phased removal of third-party AI development tools, including Cursor and Windsurf, from its internal ecosystem. This transition aims to mitigate data leakage risks by embracing its proprietary programming assistant, Trae. The domestic version of Trae was unveiled in March this year, with the international variant already offering a paid subscription plan.
