On the 9th, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) established the von Neumann Institute, with the goal of fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and expediting the evolution of new productivity through the integration of embodied intelligence, generative AI, and cutting-edge supercomputing technologies. At the inauguration ceremony, Chen Maobo, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, expressed the SAR government's unwavering belief in the vast potential of AI and its commitment to fostering AI integration across various industries through the "AI+" strategy. He anticipates that the von Neumann Institute will serve as a hub for amassing talents and resources from diverse fields, exploring novel AI application scenarios and commercialization avenues, and driving the continued advancement of Hong Kong's technological innovation ecosystem and AI technology.
