According to Google's latest research, government hackers were at the forefront of utilizing zero-day vulnerabilities in real-world cyberattacks in 2024. The report underscores that despite a decline in the total number of zero-day vulnerabilities from 98 in 2023 to 75 in 2024, at least 23 of these vulnerabilities were directly attributable to government hackers. Zero-day vulnerabilities refer to security flaws in software that have yet to be identified by the software vendor but have already been compromised by hackers.
