On April 10th, the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, under the leadership of renowned AI scientist Dr. Fei-Fei Li, unveiled the "AI Index Report 2025." This report underscores a remarkable convergence in performance between leading AI models from China and the United States, with the gap shrinking dramatically from 17.5% in 2023 to a mere 0.3%. Among the prominent large models in 2024, 40 hailed from the United States, and 15 originated from China. Notably, Google and OpenAI tied for first place with 7 models each, while Alibaba, with 6 models, secured the third position globally in terms of AI contributions. Furthermore, in the "Important AI Releases of 2024" curated by industry experts, Alibaba's three achievements – Qwen2, Qwen2.5, and DeepSeek-V3 – were prominently featured on the list.
