NVIDIA has finalized its acquisition of Lepton AI for a sum in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Lepton AI, founded by former Alibaba executive Jia Yangqing, specializes in reselling NVIDIA GPUs for cloud services. Prior to the acquisition, Lepton AI had secured $11 million in funding and was a significant competitor in the GPU leasing market, facing off against Together AI, which has raised over $500 million. With the completion of the deal, Jia Yangqing will continue his tenure with the company.
Lepton AI's core offerings encompass conversational search engines, Python SDKs, cloud computing platforms, and more. By aggregating third-party computing power resources, the company provides on-demand computing resources and storage solutions tailored to leasing users. This strategic acquisition positions NVIDIA to further solidify its presence in the realm of AI infrastructure services.
