On Monday, the White House issued a directive compelling federal agencies to designate Chief AI Officers and formulate comprehensive strategies aimed at expanding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) within government operations. Concurrently, it rescinded two executive orders enacted during the Biden administration, which had focused on regulatory measures for this burgeoning technology. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has instructed agencies to adopt minimum risk management standards for high-risk AI applications and to develop policies pertaining to generative AI within the forthcoming months.
