On Friday, Reuters reported that SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, Blue Origin, owned by Jeff Bezos, and the United Launch Alliance jointly secured a total of $13.5 billion in rocket launch contracts from the U.S. Space Force, valid until 2029. These contracts entail launching some of the Pentagon's most sensitive and sophisticated satellites into space. This significant agreement is a cornerstone of the U.S. Space Force's flagship National Security Space Launch Procurement program, which aims to facilitate approximately 54 launch missions through incrementally issued task orders until 2029. Under this arrangement, SpaceX will undertake 28 missions with a contract worth $5.9 billion, the United Launch Alliance will handle 19 missions valued at $5.3 billion, and Blue Origin will manage 7 missions with a contract of $2.3 billion.
