Microsoft has recently announced the open-sourcing of Phi-4, the latest addition to its Phi series of small language models, featuring an impressive 14 billion parameters. Beyond its traditional language processing capabilities, Phi-4 excels in complex reasoning across various domains, particularly in mathematics. Currently available through Azure AI Foundry, access to Phi-4 remains limited for most users. Phi-4 has demonstrated remarkable performance in mathematical reasoning, surpassing both its peers and larger models such as GeminiPro1.5 and GPT-4o. This groundbreaking achievement is attributed to its utilization of high-quality synthetic datasets and innovative training methods that significantly enhance model performance.
