According to WIRED and Exin Therapeutics, OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Sol has been used in live mouse brain surgery experiments. Across three consecutive procedures, the model refined its positioning based on surgeon feedback: the time required to identify key anatomical landmarks fell from 169 seconds to 86 seconds, while positioning error was reduced from 0.6 millimeters to 0.3 millimeters.
