On November 6, the U.S. Department of Justice announced the establishment of a Superintelligence Task Force. Led by Deputy Attorney General-level officials Stanley Woodward and Stephen Weiss, the task force aims to prevent malicious actors—such as foreign governments, their supported organizations, and transnational criminal groups—from abusing superintelligence technology. The Department of Justice will work with SI Force Chairman Jay Clayton to prevent critical superintelligence technology from being maliciously exploited and will continue to investigate and prosecute individuals who use related technologies to carry out illegal activities. The task force will also strengthen superintelligence risk monitoring and response mechanisms, promote improved internal controls among enterprises, and focus on protecting U.S. critical infrastructure, national security, and commercial interests.
