Anthropic PBC is preparing to launch the formal roadshow for its initial public offering next week, according to media reports citing people familiar with the matter, as the company begins marketing the deal to potential investors. The roadshow follows two weeks of sharp volatility in tech stocks, after investors reacted to the massive AI spending plans unveiled by Amazon and Google as well as the Democrats' landslide victory in the midterm elections. Although tech stocks rebounded on Friday, they still ended the week down 3%. Anthropic is pressing ahead with its listing plans and aims to begin trading in the week of November 16, ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. The market had previously expected the company to raise more than $80 billion at a valuation of $1.5 trillion, but recent concerns about AI-related stocks and spending may prompt it to seek a lower valuation.
