AI coding tool Cursor has rolled out a real-time voice chat feature that lets developers hold two-way voice conversations with its coding agent. Users can verbally request code changes or check on task progress while the agent writes code in the background. The feature works across multiple platforms: on iPhone, calls can be started through Siri and controlled from the lock screen or the Dynamic Island. Calls are two-way voice sessions, and users can run multiple read-only queries without interrupting the coding task. Speech recognition and synthesis are powered by Grok Voice, while the coding agent runs on whichever model the user has selected. Multiple voices are available, and users can switch between them mid-call. When privacy mode is on, voice chats leave zero data retention. Calls are subject to a daily usage cap, and a call ends automatically after roughly 10 minutes of silence with no tasks running.
