Nov 7 — OpenAI has received the first tranche of roughly $11 billion in its new funding round, which values the company at $1.25 trillion and is expected to total up to $20 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. The remaining funds are expected to arrive in the coming weeks. OpenAI had initially aimed to raise at least $30 billion at a $1.4 trillion valuation before scaling back its target. Earlier this year, in March, the company closed a $122 billion funding round at an $852 billion valuation.
