On November 6, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the National Office on Aging jointly released the Several Measures on Cultivating Diverse Scenarios to Promote Consumption of Senior-Friendly Products. The measures call for accelerated efforts to promote the application of smart senior-friendly products, leveraging national major science and technology projects as a driving force to speed up the adoption of cutting-edge technologies—such as embodied intelligence, large language models, brain-computer interfaces, and exoskeletons—in the elderly care sector, and to research and upgrade intelligent devices for disability care, rehabilitation nursing, and mental companionship. Localities are encouraged to refer to the national annual catalog for the promotion of senior-friendly products and services and, in conjunction with the "Benefits for the Elderly and Assistance to Enterprises" initiative, advance the promotion of local products. Support should be given to collecting and feeding back consumer demand and data in accordance with laws and regulations, dynamically updating sales lists, promoting product iteration and upgrading, and cultivating well-known brands of senior-friendly products.
