Michael Burry, the real-life protagonist of the film "The Big Short," said he will not buy shares of AI giant Anthropic when it goes public. Since Anthropic published its prospectus last month, Burry has remained bearish on its IPO, arguing that the company's massive spending commitments vindicate his bearish thesis on the AI trade. On Wednesday, he posted on Substack, raising further questions about Anthropic's updated S-1 filing, focusing on some of the financial data it disclosed. Burry wrote that the company's valuation not only reflects optimistic expectations, but even bets the entire company's survival on such optimistic expectations.
