Lei Jun shared a video on social media showcasing the latest testing progress of Xiaomi's robot in home environments. Built upon the Xiaomi-Robotics-1 embodied foundation model, the robot forms a complete autonomous execution system and has been piloted in Xiaomi Youth Apartments, where it can perform household chores such as sweeping up trash and sorting and returning items to their designated places. It supports long-horizon operations lasting over 30 minutes, covering three rooms and encompassing more than 50 tasks; upon completion, it can also conduct room inspections and whole-home re-inspections. Xiaomi is advancing both its industrial and home robot roadmaps in parallel: industrial robots have already achieved 8-hour continuous workstation operations in automotive factories, while on the home front, real household chore tests are being used to collect home operation data for model iteration. Currently, this home robot has not yet entered ordinary households, and its household chore handling capabilities will continue to be optimized as real-world scenario data accumulates.
