ChatGPT has gained a new feature: users can now create animated GIFs using text prompts or uploaded photos, with options to adjust playback speed, edit individual frames, and share their creations. The feature debuts alongside OpenAI's new image model, Images 2.6, which also speeds up ChatGPT's image generation and is being gradually rolled out to users across multiple platforms. OpenAI has additionally released two image generation models in its API—one optimized for speed and the other for quality. Users now generate more than 4 billion images per week through ChatGPT and the API, up from the 3 billion per week reported in September.
