The China-region version of Apple Intelligence officially debuts with iOS 27.3 Beta 1. After upgrading, users can independently choose to activate the Alibaba Qwen extension through the "Apple Intelligence & Siri" section in Settings. Invocation requires user authorization, and neither user requests nor Qwen responses are used for model training. This update brings multiple AI capabilities: Siri can invoke Qwen to handle complex questions and analyze images and text, and a new marquee effect has been added; system-level writing tools support text rewriting, proofreading, and summarization, with processing performed entirely on-device; Visual Intelligence can be launched by long-pressing the camera control button to identify objects, places, or text; the photo eraser tool runs on a local small model, though results have yet to be improved; notification summaries can condense key information and rank priorities; and when paired with designated AirPods, multilingual face-to-face conversations can be translated in real time. The China-region version of Apple Intelligence integrates Apple's system capabilities, Qwen's generative AI capabilities, and Baidu's localized search services. Initially, it supports only iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 and later models; iPad and Mac are not yet available in the first batch of the experience.
