On November 4, ByteDance introduced new internal regulations governing the use of AI tools, broadly restricting the use of personal accounts such as Claude and Codex within the company. Starting this month, the company will enforce a ban on external AI access to all L4-level code repositories and Feishu documents, and employees' self-purchased AI accounts will be unable to access relevant internal resources. Informed sources stated that employees using personal accounts of external AI tools to process public work information or for non-work scenarios are not subject to restrictions.
