Nov 4 — HSBC analysts noted in a research report that the artificial intelligence investment boom could bring wider benefits to the economy. The report said recently released third-quarter GDP data indicate this trend may already be evident in South Korea and Taiwan, China, helping to narrow the K-shaped divergence within the two economies—a pattern in which some industries grow rapidly while others struggle. HSBC said Taiwan, China's domestic demand growth accelerated in the third quarter, supported by stronger capital expenditure and resilient consumption; South Korea showed a similar trend, with growth momentum in AI-related fields gradually benefiting other domestic industries and driving consumption.
