ByteDance has significantly tightened its restrictions on the use of external AI tools starting this month, implementing a company-wide ban on external AI access to L4-level code repositories and Feishu documents. Personal accounts such as Claude and Codex purchased by employees at their own expense will no longer be usable within the company. The primary aim of the ban is to prevent data leaks and protect asset security. In response to the policy on the company's internal network, Technical Vice President Hong Dingkun stated that the consequences of leaking core content at L3 level and above would be extremely serious, while also emphasizing that internal products should not be promoted merely by banning alternatives.
