On November 2, White House National Economic Council Director Hassett stated that the market need not be overly concerned about financing for AI infrastructure development, as the financial system has ample capital to support related investments. In an interview with CNBC on Monday, Hassett described the AI industry as an ecosystem with very favorable financing conditions. His remarks came in response to last week's sharp decline in tech stocks, which saw the Nasdaq Composite Index fall to its lowest level since July. Hassett acknowledged that some highly leveraged companies are indeed cause for concern, but noted that many large, financially robust companies in the market hold equity and debt in other firms and may be willing to step in and take over when some companies encounter difficulties. He said the ecosystem has a tremendous amount of cash on hand, and investors should feel reassured even after last week's stock market decline. Turning to market trends, he added that after sharp rallies, the market sometimes does need a pullback, but there is absolutely no risk of a broad sell-off.
