On the morning of November 2, President Xi Jinping held talks at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing with Sultan Haitham of Oman, who was on a state visit to China. President Xi noted that this visit—the first by an Omani head of state to China since the establishment of diplomatic relations 48 years ago—will be recorded as an important page in the history of China-Oman relations and will inject strong impetus into the growth of bilateral ties. China is ready to deepen the synergy of development strategies with Oman, be a steady and reliable energy partner, a promising investment partner, and a high-tech partner in collaborative innovation; make energy cooperation more multi-dimensional and comprehensive; strengthen industrial, investment, AI, scientific, technological and cultural exchanges; and join hands on the path of respective development and revitalization and the realization of modernization. The two sides should carry forward traditional friendship, tighten the bond of people-to-people connectivity, intensify cooperation in such areas as education, tourism, health, the press and sports, and keep enriching and expanding the connotation of the China-Oman strategic partnership.
