The DeepSeek Harness team has open-sourced the Super-Agent — the underlying architecture for autonomous agents — on GitHub. This is not a standalone product launch. Rather, it brings classic computer system design principles into the agent architecture: it takes over session management and context synchronization at the infrastructure level, steering agent applications toward becoming continuously online autonomous collaborators. To address the limitations of traditional single-session agents, the architecture comprises five core modules. Through design choices such as a dual-layer architecture, event-driven modules, and asynchronous full-duplex interaction, it balances global continuity with high-concurrency throughput, enabling persistent online operation and exception self-healing. Empirical testing shows that its task completion efficiency significantly outperforms traditional single-session solutions, while substantially reducing token overhead and inference time. Though some challenges remain, it has already demonstrated the feasibility of system-level session scheduling — offering an important reference point for the industry.
