Tencent's AI assistant Marvis has rolled out a new Coding Manager feature. Building on its existing ability to remotely control a computer from a phone, the tool now lets users invoke desktop AI programming tools to write code and execute tasks, with initial support for two: CodeBuddy IDE's programming mode and Kimi Code Desktop. After stepping away from their computer, users can view projects and chat history, track task progress, and send messages to desktop AI tools or kick off new project tasks—all from their phone. Marvis is positioned as a 24/7 AI assistant and has already introduced four managers—Computer, Files, Software, and Browser—each covering a different everyday scenario; Coding Manager marks its expansion into AI-assisted programming. In the Marvis mobile app, users navigate to the phone-remote-control-computer section, authorize a connection to a computer running a supported AI programming tool, and can then view the project list and chat windows in sync. They can also switch between models and add files or photos from their phone for remote processing of AI tasks; additional AI programming tools will be supported in the future. Natural-language instructions and newly created projects sync seamlessly between phone and computer. Compared with earlier approaches to remote desktop control, Coding Manager offers a native entry point better tailored to phones; users can also enable an anti-sleep feature on the Marvis desktop client to ensure remote tasks run uninterrupted. The feature continues Marvis's service model of initiating on the phone, executing on the computer, and reviewing and confirming on the phone—helping users stay connected with AI programming tasks on their computer at any time.
