Tata Communications plans to invest $400 million to $450 million to construct an AI-ready high-speed, low-latency network corridor in India that connects key AI data centers. The project will be carried out in three phases, with a total of 10,000 kilometers of new long-distance fiber optics to be laid. The first phase will establish a route from Mumbai to Chennai, connecting the eastern and western coasts of India, with subsequent expansion to other key regions. This initiative aims to proactively deploy network infrastructure that meets the stringent latency and bandwidth requirements for AI training and inference, addressing the demand for computing power in India.
