On October 13, Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg declared that Meta has reached the forefront of artificial intelligence technology and will continue to increase its investment in AI development, rejecting industry calls to slow down AI progress. Zuckerberg introduced that Meta's newly released Muse Wonder model possesses more complex capabilities, reaching the cutting-edge level in the current AI field. In some technical benchmark tests, Muse Wonder outperformed Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5, Fable 5.1, and OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra, capable of handling complex tasks such as understanding leases and analyzing financial or health information. The model will primarily target enterprise customers, with Meta aiming to compete with OpenAI and Anthropic in the enterprise AI market. Zuckerberg pointed out that achieving this goal requires substantial computational power, infrastructure development, and top-tier AI talent. Regarding concerns about AI safety, he believes that AI is a technology manageable through normal safety mechanisms, rather than a system that will go out of control on its own. He opposes a blanket slowdown in AI development, emphasizing that laboratories should ensure model safety. Additionally, Zuckerberg stated that Meta will continue to advance in the direction of 'personal superintelligence.' Unlike OpenAI and Anthropic, which pursue artificial general intelligence (AGI), Meta hopes to create AI assistants that help individuals enhance their abilities, rather than systems primarily used for automating knowledge work.
