The CEOs of Intel and Broadcom have warned that the ability to secure funding may become a major constraint on the development of artificial intelligence. Broadcom CEO Hock Tan stated at the DBS Asian Insights Conference in Singapore that the entire industry is accelerating infrastructure construction to support more complex AI large models, and that financing issues could hinder AI expansion more than shortages in semiconductors, memory chips, or electricity. He emphasized that capital could become the biggest limiting factor. Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan also expressed similar concerns, pointing out that the cost of capital is rising and that the market questions whether AI investments can generate sufficient returns.
