Apple Acquires Huxe Through Reverse Talent Acquisition

Apple disclosed on the EU's Digital Markets Act case database website that it has reached an agreement to acquire the team and related technologies of personalized audio startup Huxe, in what is known in the industry as a reverse talent acquisition. According to reports, Apple has notified the European Commission of its plan to hire some employees from Huxe AI and obtain a non-exclusive license to Huxe's intellectual property. The founding team of Huxe previously worked on Google's NotebookLM project (now renamed Gemini Notebook). On May 21, Huxe announced the shutdown of its business and posted on its official website huxe.com that it would remove its app from the Apple and Google app stores, cease services, and delete all user data.
