Diffusion intelligence firm DiffuSpace has recently finalized two successive rounds of funding, amassing a total of nearly 500 million yuan. This achievement marks a new benchmark for funding scale within the global Diffusion Language Model (dLLM) industry. The roster of investors is remarkable, featuring Matrix Partners China, Shunwei Capital, Legend Capital, CAS Star, Huawei Hubble, Horizon Robotics, and more. Founded by a team hailing from the University of Hong Kong, DiffuSpace stands as one of the pioneering groups worldwide to delve into the dLLM technological landscape. In a prior collaboration, the team worked alongside Huawei's Noah's Ark Lab to unveil the Dream series models, securing a spot among the top three representative dLLMs globally. dLLMs are characterized by reversible correction, global problem-solving capabilities, flexible computing, and other traits that align more closely with human thought processes. Their reasoning speed can outpace that of autoregressive models by several folds, presenting distinct benefits in applications such as edge-side agents and embodied AI. Currently, DiffuSpace is making strides in training a new generation of larger-parameter dLLMs, with intentions to release and open-source them in the near future. Its commercialization strategy will concentrate on Coding Agent and edge-side model deployment, with the goal of propelling this unconventional technological pathway towards engineering and industrialization.
