On October 8, Hilde, the Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), remarked that, from a long-term perspective, the current era signifies a flourishing stage for the progression of artificial intelligence (AI), with particular emphasis on establishing an AI-driven economic framework and nurturing interconnected systems. This endeavor encompasses not only the foundational infrastructure, such as data centers, but also the pragmatic deployment of AI technologies, which are anticipated to achieve widespread adoption on a global scale. The WTO forecasts that by 2040, the integration of AI will bolster the total trade volume by approximately 40%, attributed to diminished trade expenses and enhanced operational efficiency.
