Recently, software engineer Brandon Thomas released the open-source project ArtCraft, which includes three Adobe alternative applications written from scratch in Rust: PhotoCraft (layer-based image editing), FilmCraft (video editing, color grading, and audio processing), and LightCraft (photo management and RAW processing). These applications support macOS, Windows, and Linux systems, aiming to achieve functional parity with their Adobe counterparts within a month. Currently, the project is in the alpha stage, with PhotoCraft and PrintCraft marked as Early alpha, while the remaining five are labeled as In development.
