After a month of intense discussions on the risks of advanced AI models, executives from four companies will attend a New York City Council hearing on Monday to testify under oath about the potential harms of AI. According to a press release issued by New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin, the hearing will be a rare full committee hearing, with all 51 council members expected to attend. The council will require the companies to explain the threats posed by AI and provide their opinions on proposed legislative measures.
