DeepSeek Harness has released version v0.2.1-alpha.1, introducing an experimental Claude Code Mods compatibility layer. This layer validates the capabilities of the Claude Code Mods API, which broadly falls under the subset of DeepSeek Harness plugin capabilities, allowing extensions written for the Claude Code Mods interface to run within DeepSeek Harness's plugin system. Previously, Claude Code introduced the Mods feature, enabling users to customize the interface and work behaviors of AI programming tools. Cui Tianyi, the team lead of DeepSeek Harness, stated that the philosophies of both sides align, as DeepSeek Harness has adhered to the principle of 'everything as a plugin' since its inception, supporting the combination, replacement, and extension of core capabilities in plugin form. The new version also adds a convenient entry point for 'letting Agents create plugins' along with a matching (corresponding) developer toolkit. Currently, this compatibility layer is still in the experimental stage and does not yet achieve full compatibility, merely demonstrating the potential for cross-tool reuse of extensions.
