On September 29, 2026 (local time), U.S. President Trump issued an executive order, officially rebranding artificial intelligence (AI) as Super Intelligence (abbreviated as SI). This directive mandated that all administrative departments and agencies adopt the new terminology in their official documents. On the same day, Trump also signed a White House AI self-regulatory pact in collaboration with leading tech giants. The signing ceremony was attended by top executives from Google, Meta, Amazon, and NVIDIA, among others. According to the agreement, these companies are required to establish a four-tier control and audit system. This system encompasses internal controls, monitoring by independent teams, external audit evaluations, and oversight by an independent board committee. Nevertheless, the document is notably concise, spanning just one page, and lacks specific details, relying instead on voluntary commitments from the participating companies. Trump emphasized that the agreement carries moral weight and hinted at the possibility of setting up an artificial intelligence safety committee in the future.
