On September 30, Chinese AI firm DeepSeek revealed its partnership with Huawei. The collaboration aims to develop programming tools finely tuned for Ascend chips and to make the programming infrastructure for Huawei's Ascend platform open source. This infrastructure encompasses TileLang high-level language compilation tools, computing libraries, distributed communication libraries, and more. In the AI field, these components are the direct counterparts of those previously open-sourced for NVIDIA's platform. This move represents a substantial leap forward in building a robust software ecosystem for China's domestic AI computing capabilities. DeepSeek mentioned that Huawei's team offered unwavering support throughout the R&D journey. Both sides worked hand in hand to propel the 128-card supernode solution based on Ascend 950 forward. They carried out in-depth optimizations in both computing and communication aspects, paving the way for more efficient AI operations.
