Meta has unveiled its new business division, Meta Enterprise Platform, with ambitious plans to integrate offerings like the Muse agent into a dedicated enterprise service package tailored for businesses and developers. In a strategic move, Meta has successfully recruited MongoDB’s former CEO, Desai—who stepped down after less than a year in his role—to assume the position of Chief Enterprise Platform Officer, reporting directly to Zuckerberg.
At present, the consumer-centric Muse platform grapples with challenges such as limited usage scenarios and struggles in converting users to paid subscriptions. To address these issues, Meta is refining its consumer-side business model by introducing scenario connectors and facilitating seamless payment options.
In recent years, Meta has made substantial investments in the AI sector and is now under pressure to bolster its enterprise revenue streams, which promise higher average revenue per user and greater scalability, to offset these costs. The competitive landscape in the large-scale model industry has evolved, shifting from a race for technical expertise to a pursuit of revenue leaders with proven track records in B2B operations. These leaders are instrumental in transforming AI technologies into enterprise-grade procurement products with long-term renewal cycles, thereby closing the commercialization loop.
