On September 29, 2026 (local time), at its Developer Day event, OpenAI officially rolled out the GPT-6.1 Sol model alongside the all-weather autonomous agent, Dots. The GPT-6.1 Sol model delivers performance that closely rivals that of OpenAI's flagship model, Astra, yet comes at a significantly lower cost, with its standard token price being just one-fifth of Astra's. This model is now accessible to Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu users, and it also supports API calls. Furthermore, OpenAI has announced its plans to introduce an ultra-fast version of the GPT-6.1 Sol model in the near future.
