According to Microsoft's latest report, in the second quarter of 2026, AI users constituted 18.8% of the global working-age population, marking a quarter-on-quarter increase of roughly 1%. Virtually all economies witnessed a surge in AI usage rates. The UAE and Singapore emerged as global frontrunners in AI adoption, while Ireland, France, and Norway were not far behind, nearing the 50% adoption threshold. South Korea demonstrated the most rapid percentage growth in AI adoption among all economies. Saudi Arabia ascended the rankings at the swiftest pace, and Japan achieved the most significant relative increase. Furthermore, the average AI adoption rate among the working-age population in the Global North significantly outstripped that in the Global South, with the disparity continuing to widen. The United States secured the 21st position with an adoption rate of 33.0%.
