In an interview with The New York Times, Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, expressed the view that as artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly pervasive, the forgetting of certain fundamental skills by individuals may not pose a significant issue. He referenced a study involving 26,000 students in China, which revealed that although AI enabled students to finish their homework more swiftly and attain high grades, their performance in exams deteriorated over time. Huang conceded that the issue of inadequate knowledge retention could indeed be a concern, yet he remained unperturbed. Citing his own forgetfulness of his home address and phone number as an illustration, he contended that as technological advancements diminish the necessity for outdated skills, individuals will naturally acquire new competencies, while essential abilities will persist.
