On September 23, the AutoResearch automated research system, developed by the startup team SiMate, clinched the first-place position on RoboDojo—a renowned leaderboard for evaluating robot intelligence. This system leverages a weak RSI (Robot-Scientist Interaction) paradigm characterized by human-machine co-driving. In this setup, human researchers define the goals and constraints, while the AutoResearch system takes charge of refining plans, executing experiments, and iterating through evaluations. This accomplishment marks the first engineering proof for the Physical RSI approach, confirming that the process of robot intelligence research can indeed be automated.
