On September 22, Li Qiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, underscored the importance of adhering to the principles of intelligence, green development, and integration during his research trip in Shanghai. He advocated for the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation, vigorously promoting next-generation intelligent manufacturing, accelerating the cultivation and expansion of emerging and future-oriented industries, and consistently bolstering the capabilities of advanced manufacturing.
At the Shanghai Electric National AI Application Pilot Test Base, Li Qiang observed product demonstrations of specialized and industrial robots, along with their applications in complex scenarios. He listened to reports on the development of 'AI+' integrated service providers and AI-native factories and toured the pilot test workshop for the assembly and debugging of intelligent robots.
Li Qiang highlighted that the rapid development of emerging industries, such as artificial intelligence, and their technological applications are profoundly transforming the technological frameworks, production models, and industrial landscapes of manufacturing. This transformation presents new opportunities for technological innovation and brand enhancement within the manufacturing sector. He emphasized the necessity of leveraging China's manufacturing strengths and digital intelligence technologies to advance 'AI + manufacturing', promote intelligent upgrades throughout the entire process of research and development, production, and management, further unlock the potential of data elements, and drive comprehensive digital and intelligent transformation across more industries, thereby building smarter industrial and supply chains.
At the same time, Li Qiang stressed the importance of addressing common challenges faced by the manufacturing sector. He called for the development of more manufacturing production service platforms centered around key links such as industrial design, pilot testing and verification, and intelligent operation and maintenance. These platforms should provide integrated services and diverse solutions to assist enterprises of all sizes, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, in undergoing efficient and cost-effective intelligent transformations. This, in turn, will continuously enhance their development momentum and competitive edge.
