After an eight-day hiatus from the market, ChatGPT Pro 20X has made a comeback, but its availability is now restricted to a select group of long-term users. A number of netizens reported seeing upgrade prompts on the Codex desktop client and successfully made the upgrade. As the news gained traction, it was revealed that only those long-standing users who had either canceled their 20X plan or experienced a service interruption within the past 30 days were eligible to repurchase it. OpenAI has officially verified this rule, emphasizing that eligibility constitutes a one-time opportunity and necessitates the fulfillment of three criteria: user identity, timing, and frequency of use.

Previously, on September 10, OpenAI opted to suspend sales of the 20X plan due to the excessive computational demands imposed by its users, which were straining the system. During this suspension period, a black market emerged for the resale of 20X accounts. According to a developer's calculations, the leverage ratio associated with this plan can soar up to 35 times. Presently, new users remain ineligible to purchase the plan, prompting widespread speculation that it may be fully reinstated prior to the OpenAI DevDay developer conference scheduled for September 29.
