Established in 2022, Plaud AI specializes in AI-driven note-taking hardware and corresponding software solutions. To date, the company has reached an impressive annual recurring revenue of $100 million, boasting a user base exceeding 2.5 million across more than 170 countries. By the end of last year, Plaud AI's valuation had soared past the $1 billion mark, and it had attained profitability. Its primary investor is Vertex Ventures, a subsidiary of Temasek Holdings. Plaud AI sources its chips from third-party suppliers like Realtek Semiconductor, undertakes hardware manufacturing in Shenzhen, and manages design and R&D internally. The company has established a global footprint, with the U.S. and European markets accounting for approximately two-thirds of its revenue.

This Wednesday, Plaud AI announced the opening of its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore, where the local workforce has surged from 10 to 100 employees in just nine months. The company has set an ambitious target of achieving $500 million in global sales this year and plans to pursue an initial public offering (IPO) in the U.S. by 2028, following the attainment of over $1 billion in annual revenue.

Founder Xu Neisen emphasized that talent acquisition remains the company's foremost priority, with a focus on integrating technical teams to bridge R&D gaps. Currently, Plaud AI is engaged in multiple acquisition projects, though no deals have been finalized yet. Xu also acknowledged that, given the rapid pace of technological advancements, the company's operations must be meticulously aligned with its development trajectory over the next 12 months to maintain a competitive edge.
