On September 17, news emerged that Hubei province has officially launched its inaugural, comprehensive FDE training program in the Wuhan East Lake High-Tech Development Zone. This program is structured into three distinct tiers: novice, intermediate, and expert. Distinctively, certification is awarded not through traditional written tests but by evaluating the tangible results of project implementations as the primary criterion. To earn certification, participants are required to successfully finish the coursework, engage in hands-on projects, and undergo a thorough assessment.

A consortium of eight entities, including the Wuhan SME Development Promotion Center, has come together to spearhead this FDE talent collaboration. The government plays a pivotal role in standardizing FDE talent qualifications, while leading corporations share their industrial expertise, and academic and research institutions contribute their technical expertise and faculty. This synergy fosters an all-encompassing talent development ecosystem that seamlessly integrates industry, academia, research, and practical application.

Looking ahead, Optics Valley has ambitious plans for the next three years. It aims to nurture over a thousand highly skilled FDE engineers, roll out a thousand innovative agent scenarios, and support ten thousand enterprises in their AI transformation and enhancement endeavors. The ultimate goal is to position Optics Valley as a national epicenter for FDE talent and a frontrunner in AI application.
