Huawei has proudly introduced Peerium, a cutting-edge computing architecture meticulously designed for the AI age. By harnessing the power of nested parallelism, unified memory addressing, and a democratic interconnection approach, Peerium attains unparalleled scalability, seamlessly integrating millions of processors. This breakthrough transcends the constraints of the traditional Turing model and the von Neumann single-machine architecture, ushering in a new era with the introduction of Nested BSP (Bulk Synchronous Parallel). At the heart of this architecture lies Lingqu, a pivotal interconnection technology that facilitates limitless scalability and seamless connectivity among diverse hardware components. The Atlas 950 supernode stands as the inaugural product embodying the Peerium architecture. Currently, a cluster comprising 256,000 Atlas 950 supernodes is in the process of deployment, while the NPO-based Atlas 960 system is undergoing rigorous testing, promising even greater advancements in AI computing capabilities.
