Melody Chu and Jing Liu, both former executives at TikTok, have collaborated to launch an innovative AI photography application, Superpose. This app is designed to serve as an educational tool for enhancing photography skills. Within just two months of its release, Superpose has achieved over 22,000 downloads and successfully secured $2.2 million in seed funding.

Leveraging advanced AI technology, the app offers users pose suggestions aimed at refining their shooting postures, angles, and compositional techniques—all without the need for extensive background alterations. The concept for Superpose was born out of Chu's personal experiences, while Liu brought valuable expertise from her previous role in developing image and video models at TikTok.

Superpose provides users with five free pose generations per day, along with various monthly subscription plans for more frequent usage. Looking ahead, the app plans to further enhance features such as generated styles and personalized recommendations, aiming to minimize any artificial or "uncanny" effects in the results. To date, users have collectively generated nearly 190,000 poses using Superpose.
