Dutch AI chip innovator Euclyd has recently unveiled the successful closure of its Series A funding round, amassing over €200 million. This financing endeavor was co-led by tech giant Samsung alongside other prominent enterprises, with substantial contributions from a diverse array of institutions. Notably, Peter Wennink, the former President and CEO of ASML, has been appointed as the Chairman of Euclyd's Board, bringing a wealth of industry experience to the nascent company.

Established in 2024, Euclyd is at the forefront of crafting a cutting-edge chip system tailored for AI inference applications, distinguished by its unique architecture that diverges from traditional GPUs. The company's flagship offerings encompass the silicon chip craftwerk, designed specifically for agentic AI, and the low-power exascale AI factory platform, known as craftwerk station CWS.

Euclyd has set ambitious goals, with plans to unveil a tangible chip system by 2028 and aspires to cater to thousands of enterprises by the dawn of the next decade. The company's founder and CEO, Bernardo Kastrup, boasts an illustrious background, setting a solid foundation for Euclyd's future endeavors. The startup has charted out two primary revenue streams: hardware sales and IP licensing, providing a robust framework for its monetization strategy.

Samsung's strategic investment in Euclyd extends beyond mere financial backing; it signifies a synergy that holds immense potential for both entities. The ascent of Euclyd is poised to catalyze the growth of the AI inference chip sector, hastening the shift in the high-end AI chip market from NVIDIA's longstanding hegemony to a more diversified ecosystem where multiple architectures coexist and thrive.
