He concurred with the stance of former Federal Trade Commission Chair Lina Khan, emphasizing that major AI firms must assume product liability and could be subject to civil and criminal legal actions if they produce unsafe technology. Simultaneously, he took issue with an article by Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, which advocated for a deceleration in AI development and sought government antitrust exemptions to foster safety discussions. David Sacks had also previously alleged on social media that the development slowdown by OpenAI and Anthropic was not entirely driven by altruism, as the market would penalize flawed models and unsafe products would leave them vulnerable to liability risks.
